Stock’s aster and Lily

This flower’s origen is North America.
And as this flower is strong my aunt planted.

Changing net of window “Amido”

060612amido01_1Now we are in the middle of June, so I started to repair and change the net of window after a long time.

This net window protect from the mosquito getting into the room.

We, Sakuraya, have a lot of these windows, so we do it by ourselves.
Yes, this is a reasonable way.

By the way when we change the nets we usually use one thing.

Sardine Cooking/Japanese style

"We won ! Look at these a looooot of fishes !"

Yes, they went to Shimoda for fishing and got a lot of sardines like this photo.

"Ok, I am going to cook these fishes for your dinner, because we have no other guests today !" I said…….

Biwa time, now !!

Do you know what this is ?

This tree is a "Loquat", "Biwa" in Japanese.

We, Pension Sakuraya has this tree in our garden.
When my uncle built out Pension, he found this baby tree in Sakuraya’s field. So he moved it a little.

After that this tree grew up bigger and bigger, and now we can eat this fruit every June….

Sunrise in Shirahama

060607sunrise01_1This morning I could see a sunrise after a long time.

I took this picture from the window of Western style room on the 2nd floor at 4:50am.

Do you think that I got up early in this morning ?

No, I didn’t get up so early, to tell the truth I didn’t go to bed last night until then.

Because my computer doesn’t work well in these days, so I started reset-up it last midnight.
And it took a long time to do it and data recovery.

By the way after I took this picture I went to the other room to take it….. .

While cleaning up I found it !!

060606cleanup01_1Today the members of Shirahama Tourist association cleaned up Aloe field in Itado area of Shirahama.

In the morning it was windy and cool, but after we started to clean up I became very hot.

When we finished to do it 2 hours later this field became very beautiful.

By the way I found something to see for the 1st time there …..

Hydrangea Festival in Shimoda

060605hydrangea01_1The hydrangea Festival that is held at Shimoda park is taking place this year too.

This is a signboard that I took in front of Shimoda station.
This boad says to travellers about events of Shimoda all the year, and this time it advertises Ajisai (hydrangea) Festival takes place from June 1st to 30th.

Fureai no Mori in Inatori town

060604park0_1"Let’s go to the long slide this afternoon !"

After checking out of our guest I said so.

My children of course agreed with me, so we went a park in Inatori is called "Fureai no mori" after I finished to clean up the guest room.

In this park there are many kinds of trees, playground equipments and observatory.

Naturally our main purpose was a long slide.
The length of this slide is 50 meters.

From the top of this slide we can see a beautiful view of Inatori town, pacific ocean and Izu seven islands.

As soon as we got there my daughter started to slide down, but it didn’t work well…..

From the students of the United States…..

060603pictures01_1Last month, May, we had guests of students from the United States, and they gave us the student papaer of their program about Japan.

Today I put the 1st page copied of this paper with their signatures on the wall at the entrance of Sakuraya’s building.

And one more thing, a girl of this group gave us a paper with an illustration of "Cat Bus" of the movie "Totoro" and a self portrait(?) of her.

Thank you my friends, we appreciate it.
We really look forward to meeting you someday again !!

Sand Art in the beach

060303nimo01_1Today the students of Shirahama primary school had a Sand Art festival in Shirahama beach.

They made many kinds of Sand Art separating some groups.

A group of my daughters made "Nimo", a hero of the movie "Nimo", and they won a victory.

I couldn’t go to see today because of my job, but my wife took this picture by her mobile phone, so this picture is very small.
