The 78th Shimoda Black Ship Festival was taken from May 19th Friday to 21st Sunday.
The official parade of this festival was started from 11:30 AM on Saturday.
More than 300 people participated this parade.

The festival of Shirahama shrine which has a rich history of more than 2,400 years was held for 3 days from October 28th.
And it was the last time for my son to participate as a member of Kodomo Mikoshi (portable shrine carried by children).
My son and his friends participated the stage performance and showed us dancing on October 30th.

There is a shrine called “Shirahama Shrine”, 7 or 8 minutes walking from Pension Sakuraya.
They have a long history more than 2,400 years, so this shrine is the oldest one in Izu peninsula.
They have a festival for 3 days at the end of October every year, and it was started today.
A lot of residents participate this festival, and of course the children as well.
My son helped to carry the small shrine with his friends.
He is now the last grade of primary school, so it was the last chance for him.
The local community had the cleaning service from 6:30 AM, and I participated with the residences.
After the cleaning finished I came back home to prepare the breakfast for our customers.
And we cleaned the guest rooms after breakfast and started to prepare the dinner after cleaning.
I worked very hard today, so I’m very tired and sleepy…..

Shirahama shrine festival is held for 3 days from October 28th every year.
The local children take part in Kodomo Mikoshi (portable shrine by children).
They carried Mikoshi and walked around the town of Shirahama all day long yesterday.
Of course the primary school was closed yesterday.
The 76th Shimoda Black Ship Festival 2015 will take place for 3 days from May 15th Friday.
The fireworks festival will be held from 8:15 PM on the 1st day.

When I was walking on the seaside road this late afternoon I saw fishermen were setting up the red nets into the water to fish Iseebi (Japanese lobster).
Winter is the best season for lobster fishing in Japan.
They may be able to get a lot of lobsters after hauling up the net tomorrow early morning.
After we finished cleaning the guest rooms we went to Shirahama shrine, just only 3 minutes by car from Pension Sakuraya.
At the beginning of new year many Japanese go to shrines to make wishes for the coming year.
As it was very beautiful day there were a lot of people in the shrine field and on the beach.
I went to the nearest shrine "Shirahama shrine" this afternoon.
They had already been ready for the new year.
A lot of people come to this shrine during new year holidays to pray happiness, joy and good luck.
By the way, we were taken care of last year.
