How to get to Izu Shimoda Shirahama

Our Penson is in Shimoda, Izu peninsula in Shizuoka Pref. near Tokyo
Not Kii peninsula in Wakayama Pref. near Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto !!
Caution !!
The nearest train station is called "Izukyu-Shimoda station", is not Shimoda station.

By L-express, Odoriko train or Superview Odoriko ( Direct train )

Tokyo station     2.5 hrs.     Izukyu-Shimoda station
* One express Odoriko train departs every hour.
* The express Odoriko train and Superview Odoriko Train are available from
Shinjuku and Ikebukuro stations in early morning as well.
* The Superview Odoriko train is a deluxe car furnished with wide windows
for a panoramic view of the fine scenery and complete service facilities.

 If you use the reserved seat of Odoriko Limited Express from Tokyo, we recommend this Free Pass. (3 days available)

"Izu Free Q Kippu" by JR
 This pass is valid in all around Izu peninsula including local buses for 4 days except busy seasons.

"Odakyu Izu Free Pass" by Odakyu Railway Company
You can select from 4 areas of Izu peninsula. Only local trains !

If you travel to Shimoda with small children we recommend you "Super View Odoriko".

<About JR Pass>
Between JR Ito station and Izukyu-Shimoda station, it is a private Line, "Izukyu Line".
You need to pay the extra charge for this line.
   1,570 yen per person (Local train)
   2,070 yen per person (Limited Express train)

<Caution>
There is a private line "Izukyu Line" between Ito station and Izukyu-Shimoda station, but you don't have to change the line or train.
For example, if you come to Izukyu-Shimoda from Atami station by the local train or the limited express train you don't need to transfer the train at Ito station. You can go to Izukyu-Shimoda directly.

The Bus terminal ---- Please get on the bus at No. 9 bus stop.
The price of bus ticket to Shirahama is 350 yen for one way.
It takes about 15 minutes from "Izukyu-Shimoda station" to "Resupo Shirahama".

It takes about 15 minutes by bus from Izukyu-Shimoda station to Shirahama.
Please find a convenience store "Family Mart" to get off the bus at "Resupo Shirahama" which is the nearest bus stop to get to Sakuraya.

<Tokai Bus "Minami Izu Free Pass">
    2,790 yen per Adult   1,400 yen per Child

If you come to Shimoda by train and go around Southern area of Izu, this is very useful.

 This ticket is valid on 2 consecutive days.

 Unlimited usage of most Tokai buses in the southern Izu regeon, including the buses to Irozaki cape, Matsuzaki and Dogashima.


 
This Tokai bus company office is in front of Izukyu-Shimoda train station. (next to Macdonald, humberger shop)

 Basic bus fare:
  Izukyu Shimoda Train Station -- 350 yen -- Shirahama
  Izukyu Shimoda Train Station -- 860 yen -- Irozaki Cape(Southern Izu)
  Izukyu Shimoda Train Station -- 1,230 yen -- Matsuzaki (Western Izu)
