12/28/2009 We got photos from our guests. They stayed at Sakuraya on December 22nd and sent us these photos by e-mail. They are from Hong Kong and have been to Japan once or twice a year in these years, but came to Izu peninsula and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time. They rented a car at Odawara and came to Izu by car.   Before their stay it was very cold in Japan, but it became warmer and sunny day. They stayed in Izu peninsula for 3 nights and came to Sakuraya on the 3rd nights. During their stay they went to the beach, Shimoda downtown, temples and walked in the town. We look forward to meeting you again someday. Thank you very much for staying at Sakuraya.

12/11/2009 They came from Singapore and stayed at Sakuraya for 3 nights. They are teachers and in a long holiday, so they came to Japan to stay for 8 nights. During their stay for 3 nights at Sakuraya they went to many places, Shimoda, Dogashima, Shuzenji, Irozaki and Izukogen. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya, and we are looking forward to meeting you next year again.

09/19/2009 They are French families who live in Tokyo. One of these families stayed at Sakuraya last September, and they recommended their friends and came all together. We had been worrying about the typhoon before they came, but it was sunny and they was able to swim on the second day. As there was nobody else who had a dinner on the 2nd night, they had a party dancing and singing with their music after dinner. We wanted join them but we couldn't, because we had the other guests on that night. We are looking forward to meeting you again. Thank you very much for staying at Sakuraya in Shimoda.

07/13/2009 2 years ago they came to Sakuraya from Norway for the 1st time and stayed for 4 nights, and this time they came and stayed again. During their stay it was sunny, cloudy and sometimes rainy, but they had a good time here in Shirahama, I think. When they checked-in they gave us the trol on the right side photo. It is a handmade trol and very popular as a suvenir of Norway. We were very happy, and hope to see you someday again. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya.

 

07/10/2009 They came from England and Tokyo and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights. The parents came to Japan to see their daughter, and came to Shimoda on her birthday During their stay they went to the beach, Shimoda down town, aquarium and Tsumekizaki cape. Did you have a good holiday in Shimoda? Thank you for staying at Sakuraya. We look foward to meeting you again.

 

07/09/2009 They came from Finland and stayed at Sakuraya for 9 nights. Last year they went to Osaka and Shirahama in Wakayama Pref. as a 1st travel to Japan., but this time they came to Shirahama in Shimoda. They had cloudy day, rainy day and sunny days too. They spent a good time in Shimoda downtown and Shirahama beach. When they checked-out they gave us these figures. Do you know who they are? Yes, these are Moomin's mother and his friend Snork Maiden, and they were born in Finland. Thank you very much for staying at Sakuraya and cute presents. We look forward to meeting you someday again.

 

07/05/2009 They came from the United States and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time. They went to Tokyo, Kawaguchi-ko Lake, Nikko, Kyoto, Hiroshima and came to Shimoda. On the 1st and 2nd day it was almost cloudy and rainy, but they got the sun on the last day and spent several hours on the beach before the train departed. We look forward to meeting you someday again. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya.

 

06/08/2009 She is from Philippin and has been living in Japan for a long time. This time his boyfriend came from Netherland to meet her, and they came to Shimoda for the 1st time. It was rainy on 1st and 2nd days, but it became sunny and very hot after that. So they were able to have a good time on the beach and in Shimoda downtown as well. After Shimoda they went to Kyoto, but how did you like Kyoto? They are very happy couple and made us happy too! We hope we meet you someday again. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya.

 

05/30/2009 They came from Kanagawa Pref. and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights for the 1st time. She is Japanese and he is American. They married 9 months ago but they can't live together in the  United States due to American visa. So he came to Japan to meet her. During their stay in Shimoda it was almost sunny, and they went to the beach, Aquarium and Shimoda park for walking. When they checked-out we gave them Banboo shoots and locuats that we got in our field and banboo forest nearby. They said that they would be able to live together in US this summer!! "We will be back in 5 years."They said when they checked-out. I was very happy to hear that. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya. We look forward to meeting you again. 05/16/2009 They came from England and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights. They have ever come to Japan many times but it was a first time to stay in Izu peninsula. It was truely regrettable that it had been cloudy and rainy during their stay in Shimoda. But it was just taking place "Black Ship Festival" in Shimoda when they stayed, so they went to Shimoda downtown to see it. After Shimoda they went to Hakone, but how did you like? Thank you for your staying at Sakuraya. We are looking forward to meeting you again under the sun.

 

05/04/2009 They are from Spain and live in Yokohama. This time they came to Shimoda for the first time with their parents who visited from Spain. When they checked-in they meet the other foriegn family who are Spanish and live in Yokohama too. These two families have ever met each other  before in Yokohama, but they met here by accident! They stayed in Shimoda for 2 nights and they were able to have a good time with sunshine, I think. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya. We look forward to meeting you again.

 

04/23/2009 She came from Germany and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 3 nights for the 1st time. She comes to Japan for her business every year, but it was a first time to visit Japan as a private travel. She lives in Kassel which is located 600 km from the sea. That's why she came to Shimoda to be relaxed near the beach and the mountains. When she checked-in I asked her job and she said that she was a staff of "Bärenreiter"! (This is one of the largest publishers of classical music worldwide.) I am a member of a chorus group in Shimoda called "Shimoda Chor Freude" and we will have a 30th anniversary concert next April and now we are practicing Mozart "Requiem". And we are using the score of Bärenreiter! Yes, she came to Pension Sakuray by accident! It was amazing!! I was really surprised to meet her and called a leader of our chorus group immediately and we were able to talk with her on the 2nd night. The leader and the producer of our group were very excited with this experience. During her stay in Shimoda we had a rainy day and a windy day, but did you have a good time in Shimoda? We are looking forward to meeting you again. Thank you so much for coming to Shimoda and staying at Pension Sakuraya.

 

03/22/2009 He is from Balcerona in Spain and she is from Germany, and they have been living in Tokyo for 2 years. As they are learning Japanese they speak Japanese very well, so we were able to have a good communication in Japanese, English and Spanish(?). They have been to Hokkaido, Kyoto, Ogasawara islands and many places in Japan, but it was a first time to stay in Shimoda this time. It was rainy on the 1st day but it became sunny on the 2nd day. They were going for walking in Shirahama and taking Onsen in Rendaiji, Shimoda. How did you like Onsen this time? We are looking forward to meeting you again. Muchas gracias y Danke schön !!

 

03/20/2009 They are from Bolivia and have been living in Tokyo. We had a lot of foreign guests from all over the world but they are the 1st guests from Bolivia!! I have studied Spanish when I was a student of university, but we don't have many guest who speak Spanish. So I was very happy because I was able to speak Spanish with them. On the last day it was cloudy and rainy but it was sunny on the 1st and 2nd day, so they were able to go for a drive and play on the beach. We are looking forward to meeting you again. 01/31/2009 We got an e-mail with photos from Taiwan. They came to Japan in their new year holidays of Taiwan and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights. They have visited Japan for several times but it was a first time to come to Izu peninsula. Of course it was a first time to stay at Sakuraya this time. On 2nd day they went to Kawazu town by train from Shimoda and got to Amagi-toge pass by bus from Kawazu station. After that they walked down through "Amagi-zuido"(an old tunnel) and "Odoriko promnade"to Seven  water falls. These are very famous for the novel "Izu no Odoriko"(A dancer in Izu).  It took for about 5 hours because of taking photos. During their stay it was sunny so they could take good pictures for beautiful senary in Izu  and sunrise in Shirahama, I think. They said in their e-mail, "Thanks for your hospitality for the days in ShiModa. It is a good memory for us and hope one day we can visit there in summer time." We are very happy to hear this message. We are looking forward to meeting you someday again too. Thank you very much for staying at Sakuraya. Happy new year!!!

 

01/04/2009 We got a photo from Holland by e-mail. They stayed at Sakuraya for 4 nights in August 2006 and sent us e-mail again. This time we got a very happy news from them. They have just gotten a new family, a daughter who was born on December 29th! Congraulations!!! You look very fine and we are very happy to hear that great news and see your family's photo as well. They told us in their e-mail that they hope to visit Sakuraya soon. We appreciated it very much. We look forward to meeting you again too. We hope you a happy new year!!

 

01/02/2009 They came from Tokyo. They are from Bangladesh and have been in Japan for more than 4 years and half.   Yes, they are 1st customers from Bangladesh! After check our they were going to Shimoda apuarium, Narcissus festival in Tsumekizaki, Shimoda and Kawazu seven water falls, but how did you like these places? We are looking forward to meeting you in next summer. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya.

 

12/29/2008 They are 2 families. One of them on the right side is a family who came from Singapore and stayed for 2 nights, and the another family on the left side came from Tokyo and stayed for 3 nights. They met each other in the dinning room when they had a breakfast. It had been sunny and beautiful days during their staying. Thak you for staying at Sakuraya. We look forward to meeting you again.

 

12/30/2008 We got a letter and a secret present from Taiwan!! We had a taiwan people who stayed at Sakuraya on December 6th and 7th. When he checked out he told me, "I have a secret present for you !" I didn't understand what he wanted to say. But we got a letter from him today. I opend that big envelope and found the letter and the stamps. Yes, the secret present is the stamps with my family's photo which I posted in our blog. I was surprised very much. Thank you so much. We appreciated it very much !!!!!!! We are looking forward to meeting you someday again.

 

10/22/2008 We got these photos from our customers by e-mail. They are from France and Belgium and have been living in Tokyo for several years. So they speak Japanese very well. This time they stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights from October 11th and went to many places in Shimoda. On the 1st day they went to the beach after check-in and they could swim and snorkel with the warm water because it was really beautiful day in Shirahama. On the last day they were going to get off the train at Kawazu station and go to Onsen in Kawazu Seven Waterfalls, but how did you like it? We are looking forward to meeting you again. 10/17/2008 They came from England to Japan for the first time and traveled for 3 weeks. After Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Shirakawa-Go and many places they visited Shimoda. During their 4 nights stay they drove in Izu peninsula by rent a car. Did you have a good travel in Japan? Thank you very much for staying at Sakuraya.   After they went back to England they sent us the picture of their car by e-mail. This is a 1954 Citroen 'Big 15', and they took this picture at the car ralley early this year. It's a great and beautiful car! Thank you for sending photo.

 

10/11/2008 They are from Canada and have been living in Yokohama for several years. They stayed at Sakuraya 2 years ago for the 1st time and came to stay again. It was very good weather during their stay and the water of the sea was warm, but it was a little cold for their children after getting the water because of the strong wind. 09/05/2008 They are from Singapore, he lives in Tokyo but she lives in Singapore. This time she came to Japan to meet him and they came to Shirahma for the first time. Both of them are very gorgeous and she is a real model in Singapore and Hong Kong actually. They stayed at Sakuraya for only 1 night but they could go to the beach for 2 days. Could you have a nice holiday in Shimoda? Thank you for staying at Sakuraya. We look forward to meeting you again.

 

08/30/2008 They came from Tokyo and stayed at Sakuraya for 1 night. One of them is from Israel and he has stayed at Sakuray for many times. He and his family stayed for 9 nights with his  parents who came from Israel to meet their  grand son  in 2004. However he and his family decided to move to Israel and his family have already moved. So he came to Shirahama before moving with his friends. His friend on the right side brought snokering but he couldn't do it because the water was not clear after big storm. Actually I wanted to talk with them for a long time but I could not because we were very busy. We are looking forward to meeting you and your family again in the future. 08/09/2008 They are Japanese Brazilian who live in Ibaraki Pref.and Gunma Pref. They stayed at Sakuraya for 3 nights and had beautiful days in Shimoda. 08/07/2008 Happy Honeymoon!! They came from Holland and stayed at Sakuraya for 4 nights. They have just married several days ago and came to Japan for their Honeymoon! She is a Japanese who was born in Holland and came to Japan as a second time, but it was a first time to visit Japan for her husband. During their stay in Shimoda it had been sunny, so they could have a good holiday here in Shirahama, I think. Thank you for staying at Sakuraya and selecting our Pension for your honeymoon.
