 <Perry Road> This road is located between the monument of Perry's landing and Ryosenji temple. In 1853, Commodore Mathew C. Pery arrived at Japan to request the openning of Japanese port to the United States ship. In 1854, a treaty of Japan and the United States was concluded to American ships. The signning ceremony for the "Japan -U.S. Peace Treaty" was held at Ryosenji temple. There are some traditional buildings of cafe, restaurant, boutique, and a pleasant street along the river. |
