  2023/05/25 They came from China and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for two nights. They arrived at Kansai airport and went to Osaka and Kyoto, and after that they came to Shimoda.  They gave us a very good present from China.This is called Zhong Kui that is the god reputed to have the power of driving away the god of plague in pre-modoern China Thank you very much for staying with us and wonderful present! |
 2023/05/24They came from Germany and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for two nights. He has visited 4 years ago when Rugby World Cup 2019 was held in Japan, but she came to Japan for the 1st time. They arrived in Japan 3 days ago before coming to Shimoda. It was sunny on the 1st day and they went to the beach to swim, but it became rainy on the 2nd day. They went to Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa and some other places after Shimoda. Thank you very much for staying with us and we are looking forward to meeting you again in the future. |

They arrived at Narita airport one day before, and went to Kawaguchi-ko lake, and came to Shimoda, and are going to Tokyo after check out and will stay for 5 nights. They went to Seven waterfalls in Kawazu town on the 1st day and went to the nearest beach to see sunrise in early morning on the 2nd day. And they went to Irozaki cape after check out.  2023/02/21They came from Hong Kong about 5 days ago. They went to Karuizawa, Kanazawa, Takayama, and came to Shimoda after that.  2022/11/25They came from Singapore and stayed with us for 2 nights. They have visited Japan many times, but it was the first time to come to Izu peninsula. It was rainy on the 1st day, but it became sunny after 2nd day, and they went to Waling trail in Suzaki district in Shimoda. Actually they were the first guests from abroad in last 3 years because of Corona pandemic. So we were very happy to welcome them and had very good time with them. They went to Izukogen in Ito city yesterday and went to sight seeing boat in Shimoda and seven waterfalls in Kawazu town. Thank you very much for staying with us.  2020/08/20They came from Tokyo and stayed for one night. One of them has stayed twice before and there is another one has stayed once. But the other girls stayed for the 1st time. During their stay it had been sunny and very hot, and they went to the beach after check in and early in the morning before breakfast on the 2nd day. Thank you very much for staying with us. On the 1st day it was rainy day, but they went to Shirahama beach when the rain stopped. On the 2nd day it was a little sunny and they went to Kisami Ohama beach under the sun.   2019/10/15 They visited Japan from Germany for the 1st time. They came to Shimoda by rental car from Atami station after they stayed in Tokyo for several days. Before they came to Sakuraya we had been worrying about the typhoon approaching to Japan. So we prepared a lot of things for them just in case. They stayed in the Japanese style room which has screens to protect the windows of their room, but they were not able to sleep well because of the noise of the screen by the rain and the strong wind. On the second day they spent all day long in the dinning room. We asked them to have dinner from 5:00PM earlier than usual just in case of power down. And when they were having dinner we had power down as we worried. But actually the power was back 2 hours later. On the third day the typhoon had already passed and we had very beautiful morning. They walked to Shirahama beach and Shirahama shrine and went to Shimoda after that. On the 4th day they drove to Minami Izu town and Nishiizu town. We think it was really hard experience for them because of typhoon, but we had very good and wonderful time with you. Thank you so much for staying with us and have a nice travel in Japan. |
  2019/10/10 They came from Taiwan and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for the second time. Actually they have stayed 12 years ago and made our web site translated in Chinese for us after they went back home!!!  Last time they ordered boat-wrap Sashimi (Funamori), but this time they
ordered Funamori plus Iseebi lobster! Of course we served Miso soup with Iseebi when they had breakfast. They went to Kawaguchi-ko lake, Hakone and Tokyo after check out. Thank you so much for staying with us!!! We were very happy to meet you again!!! |

 2019/09/16They stayed at Pension Sakuraya in last June as the 3rd time after 3 years, and came and stayed for 2 nights this weekend. We have very strong north wind here in Shirahama but they went to Tatado beach in Shimoda and had very good time because they didn’t have strong wind there.  2019/09/02They came from Yokota Air base and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 2 nights. Some of them have stayed 4 or 5 years ago and they came with their friends again. During their stay it had been perfect weahter for the beach and they went to Kisami Ohama beach everyday and went to Tonkatsu restaurant and Yakiniku restaurant in Shimoda. Actually he has stayed at our house 10 years ago, and came with his beautiful wife and 10 months baby who is always happy and very cute. It had been cloudy and a little sunny during their stay but they went to the nearest beach, Tsumekizaki cape and Suzaki walking trail. They went to Kyoto and Hiroshima after Shimoda. He has stayed twice before and came and stayed 15 years ago when they had Thanksgiving party at Pension Sakuraya in 2004. So my wife and I were very happy to meet him and his wife after a long time.   2019/06/20 They are a beautiful couple who came from Holland to Japan for the first time, and came to Shimoda from Kagoshima prefecture after 5 weeks journey in Japan. During their stay they went to the nearest beach and many places in Shimoda. I took them to the nearest bus stop by my car after check out because I had to go to Seven Eleven for shopping.   2019/05/26 They came to Japan from Praguay and Uruguay. They went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Takayama, and came to Shimoda after that. One of them loves surfing, so he rented surf board and went to the beach every day. And the other one is an artyst and paiter of mural of building, so he goes to a lot of countries in the world for his buissines. The last one is a very famous sheff in Paraguay and sometimes appears on TV cooking program of Canal 9 SNT in Paraguay. During their stay in Shirahama it had been perfect weather, so they had good times on the beach, I think. And I was very happy to communicate with them in Spanish which I learned a little when I was college students. Thank you very much for staying with us.   2019/04/19 He came to Japan from England for the 1st time. After he went to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Takayama and many other places he came to Shimoda. I was surprised that he had very big backpack more than 25 kilograms on his back and came to Sakuraya by walk for about an hour from Izukyu-Shimoda station .....! After Shimoda he will stay in Tokyo for one night and leave Japan. Come and Visit Japan someday again in the future. Thank you for staying with us. |

(Last time: April 4th 2014) On the 1st day he went to the nearest beach after check in, and went to Irozaki cape by bus on the 2nd day. He loves Japan and comes to Japan every year.
