Shirahama shrine festival is taking place until tomorrow.
I went to the shrine to participate this festival and sung two songs on the stage.
Today it was sunny but very cold by the strong north-east wind.
When we have such wind the nearest sea has good condition for windsurfing!
By the way it was the last day of Black Ship Festival today.
When I went to Izukyu-Shimoda station some people were welcoming visitors with the clothes of Edo period.
It was sunny and much hotter than yesterday.
I went to Shimoda for shopping this afternoon, and I took a picture of the beach and the city.
Shimoda city has already been ready for the Black Ship Festival on this weekend.
Our customers from France asked me to have making Soba (buckwheat noodle) experience before coming to Japan.
So I went to Kazono district in Shimoda with them for its workshop today.
It was the first time for me to make it, but I was really excited with them.
The handmade Soba was chewy and of course it was delicious!!
When they were making Soba they said that they would be going to buy rolling pin, Soba knife, Soba ball and everything to make Soba in Tokyo and take them to France!!
(Soba making teacher doesn’t speak English…..)
Last night my son and I departed from our house at around 10:00 PM, and drove to Mt. Daruma rest house at western side of Izu peninsula, where we can see Mt. Fuji and slept in our car there.
This morning we expected to get the view of Mt. Fuji from that point, but we were not able to see clearly because of clouds.
After that we started to drive again to the southern part of Izu peninsula.
On the top of mountain there still were a lot of snow after snowing 3 days ago.
And we were able to see the beautiful cherry and rape blossoms on the river side in Matsuzaki town on the way home.
Izu peninsula is not so big but it’s very interesting, because we are able to see both of the snow on the top of mountain and the cherry blossoms on the same day.
