2018/03/27 Swimming in the Sea!

It was sunny this morning, but it became cloudy after that.

Some young boys were swimming in the water at Itami fisherman’s port in Shirahama this afternoon.

The sea water temperature is about 16 or 17 degrees celsius and now getting warmer day by day.

The wild cherry trees on the mountain opposite are now almost in full bloom.

2018/03/25 A Small Classical Ballet Performance in Shimoda

Today the small classical ballet school had performances in Shimoda.

My wife also participated and danced on this stage.

Though she had been having a trouble on her knee since several months ago, she did it very good than I expected.

In Shimoda all of young students have to join afterschool club activities at junior high school, so most of young dancers have to give up dancing when they graduate primary school.

It can’t be helped, but that’s why it’s really hard to continue dancing and the classical ballet school doesn’t have many members…..

2018/03/24 Snow and Cherry Blossoms

Last night my son and I departed from our house at around 10:00 PM, and drove to Mt. Daruma rest house at western side of Izu peninsula, where we can see Mt. Fuji and slept in our car there.

This morning we expected to get the view of Mt. Fuji from that point, but we were not able to see clearly because of clouds.

After that we started to drive again to the southern part of Izu peninsula.

On the  top of mountain there still were a lot of snow after snowing 3 days ago.

And we were able to see the beautiful cherry and rape blossoms on the river side in Matsuzaki town on the way home.

Izu peninsula is not so big but it’s very interesting, because we are able to see both of the snow on the top of mountain and the cherry blossoms on the same day.

2018/03/22 Wave Splash Rainbow

I walked on the seaside road this afternoon after several days.

The seaside road was covered with a lot of sand blown by the north wind from the beach yesterday.

After the low pressure system pass they sometimes have good waves to surf.

And we can see the rainbow made by the wave splash and the off-shore wind.

2018/03/21 Sakura Blooming but Snow

We have been having strong north wind since last night, and it’s still very cold now at 9:00 PM.

They had a lot of snow in the mountains in Izu peninsula, though the Sakura trees have already started bloom at a lot of places in Japan.

We dind’t have any snow here in Shirahama, but a lot of sands blown from the beach by the strong north wind.
