Shirahama shrine festival is held for 3 days from October 28th every year.
The local children take part in Kodomo Mikoshi (portable shrine by children).
They carried Mikoshi and walked around the town of Shirahama all day long yesterday.
Of course the primary school was closed yesterday.
Shirahama Beach this morning and the evening twilight time today.
It had been beautiful day since this morning today.
Actually I wanted to take pictures of the beach at around noon, but I was not able to do it because I cleaned the guest room and waxed the floor today.
I found out that the trees in Shimoda city had red leaves today.
I think it’s a little earlier than usual.
We had strong wind again.
I don’t like such a strong wind but it was a good condition for windsurfers today.
The local community had a work to set up fences on the beach this morning.
We set up 11 lines to protect the beach from the strong wind after all.
They came from Australia and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 3 nights.
It was the second time to visit Japan, but they came to Shimoda for the 1st time.
During their stay they walk around the beach and relaxed in their Japanese room.
They went to Izukogen and Kyoto after check-out.

I took some pictures on Sotoura beach and Shirahama beach after I took my daughter to the school as usual.
We had very strong west wind again today, but the air was clear and the blue sea was shinning under the sun.
Sotoura Beach is located between Shimoda city and Shirahama Beach, and the beach is shaped of a cove.
So they usually don’t have big waves and it would be popular to the families with small children in summer.
This last weekend we had rain for 2 days actually.
But the blue sky came back to Shirahama today.
The water was clear and shining under the sun.
I walked on the seaside road this morning after several days.
The typhoon has already gone but we sill had big waves today.
