2016/05/15 Cycling in Shimoda city with my son
My son and I went to Shimoda city for cycling this afternoon.
We parked our car at the free parking lot near harbor and took a cycling on the seaside road, and went to the liquir shop opened in 1889 and Shimoda history museum.
We had very strong north wind in Shirahama, but there was no wind in Shimoda city, so it was very good condition for cycling.
My son was excited very much today.

2016/04/16 Free Foot Spa in Shimoda
It was sunny again here in Shirahama today.
After shopping in Shimoda I went to the park on the way home.
There is a park called “Madoga-hama” just in front of Shimoda harbor and you can take a free foot spa looking over the bay.
Come and try this spa under the sun shine!
2016/02/27 Kawazu-zakura blossoms in Minami-Izu town
Yesterday I went to Minami-Izu town to see Sakura blossoms.
It was the beautiful scenery with the fully blossoming Sakura on the riverside.

I went to Kawazu town to take may daughter twice for a part time job today as usual.
There were not so many visitors in Kawazu town because of weekday.
2016/02/17 Nordic Walking to Cape Tsumekizaki
I went to the cape Tsumekizaki by Nordic walking looking over the blue sea this afternoon.
We had strong west wind but it was very beautiful day.
There were some cargo ships dropping anchor off the coast because they have to protect their ships f
rom the strong west wind.
2015/10/29 Shirahama Shrine Festival
Shirahama shrine festival is held for 3 days from October 28th every year.
The local children take part in Kodomo Mikoshi (portable shrine by children).
They carried Mikoshi and walked around the town of Shirahama all day long yesterday.
Of course the primary school was closed yesterday.
2015/10/07 Kinmedai at Fish Market in Shimoda
Shimoda city is very famous for this red fish called Kinmedai.
When I went to the fish market in Shimoda city I was able to see that they had been landing the fishes from the ships by chance.
If you come to Shimoda you should try to eat them!

2015/07/02 Izukyu-line One Day Pass and Two Day Pass
Are you a JR Pass holder? or Do you come to Shimoda by train?
If so, this is a good news for you.
This pass is a free ticket between Ito station and Izukyu-Shimoda station for one day (or two days), and you can board and get off any local train or non-reserved seat of Limited express train at any station without a limit.
Train ticket between Ito station and Izukyu-Shimoda station is 1,620 yen, but this pass is 1,200 yen.
If you are JR Pass holder, you should buy this pass at the fare adjustment office of Izukyu-Shimoda station.
Please show your passport, issued by government except Japan, to buy this pass at the ticket counter.

2015/05/21 View from Ogasaki Wing
The Ogasaki^wing is one of the good view points in Izu peninsula.
We can see the beautiful landscape and the seascape from this point.
In addition, for example, when I came back from Tokyo we can feel “Yes, we are home!” at this point.
I really love the view from this point.
