2012/02/25 Rainy on Saturday in Shirahama

120225rain01This morning I took my daughter to the school and took this picture on the way home in Shirahama.

When it is sunny we can see the blue sea from this point, but….

Since last night it have been raining in Shimoda and still raining.

Of course I know the rain is neccesary for Sakura to bloom, but it should be on weekday at least in this season.

Because a lot of people come to Izu peninsula to see the Sakura blossoms.

2012/02/18 Kawazu Sakura has just started to bloom.

120218sakura05In Japan we have a lot of kinds of Sakura.

And the earliest blooming is Kawazu Sakura, which usually starts to bloom from the end of January.

But this season it is later than usual.

Kawazu Sakura festival has already started from February 5th, but it is only 5 % blooming on this stage.

In our garden there are some Sakura trees and they also have just started blooming.

The best timing to watch Kawazu Sakura in this season will be after the end of February, I think.

2011/11/17 Aloe Flowers are blooming.

111117itadobeach04I am a member of Izu Shirahama Tourist association.

Today we went to Itado area in Shirahama to clean up the Aloe field.

There are a lot of Aloe on a hill, and we can see Shirahama beach from this hill.

The Aloe festival will take place from December 9th.

This field is one of good points for the pictures, because the contrast of blue cloor of sea and red one of Aloe is very gorgeous.

Why don't you come to Shirahama to see it?

2011/06/11 Heavy Rain Warning in Izu Peninsula – – Shirahama Beach Today

110611ajisai01 This is a hydrangea in our garden.

First of all they have white blossoms, but the color is changing to purple and blue day by day.

Now they have 30 % blooming and we will be able to see the full blooming on around June 20th.

But I love this young color because I feel that they have young spirit and power.

Anyway the rain suits them very well in this season.

By the way we had a heavy rain here in Shimoda this morning…..
